Applications

HiFlux Auto-line© Filters can be applied to the filtration of various food and drinks such as: Sugars (Sugar juice – Water – Glucose); Chocolate; Thickeners; Oil and Fats and Beverage (Beer, Juice, Coffee, Carbonises drinks).

Whey and egg processing are new and successful applications for HiFlux Auto-line© Filter with hygienic design which have shown very positive results in the production process. Some Customers have highlighted that by replacing their old bag filter systems with self-cleaning filters, they are able to solve many problems, such as: improving productivity capacity, saving on costs, reducing chance of contamination and minimising loss of valuable product.

The development made to improve egg filtering process also appears to be positive with more thorough filtration, no production interruptions, no manual cleaning and saving on maintenance and other costs. Using the self-cleaning units also reduces the waste of non-reusable bag filters, making the process more environmentally friendly. How HiFlux Auto-line© Filter works

The self-cleaners use a plunger or a series of scrapers to remove waste caught on the filter element inside the process. This improves the flow through the filter. The captured particles can then be ejected from the system without the need to stop the process or change the element, saving on downtime within the system. A detail explanation and demonstration video can be seen here.

Technical

Made from Stainless Steel EN 1.4404, the self-cleaning system has become increasingly popular within industries where downtime can lead to increased costs. Filtering to sizes ranging between 30-1000 micron, the self-cleaning filters are available with an electronically automated, a pneumatically operated control system or a manual system in order to operate the cleaning cycle. Different models are available for a wide range of uses such as: Cooling, Refining and Filtering. The hygienic design of the HiFlux Auto-line© Filter allows easier cleaning process; reduces labour cost and downtime; and prevents bacterial build-up with the closed system and robust construction.

Many of Croft’s clients are making significant savings since fitting a self-cleaning filter into their process – one client in particular is saving over £1700 a week by reducing downtime, filter bag cost & disposal. (See full story at https://www.filters.co.uk/news/itac-saves-1700-a-week.php)
