Our new washdown-resistant checkweighers for precision weighing applications in food manufacturing environments. will be available to view for the first time

Typical applications include the processing of meat, fish and seafood, but also baked goods and ready meals, in which pasty and liquid product ingredients can spill over and contaminate conveyor belts or other parts of the machine in direct or indirect contact with food. The new dynamic checkweighers are designed for the sort of harsh cleaning routines found in the food industry. The systems are IP69 tested and are resistant to most caustic detergents and disinfectants in line with the ECOLAB Material Compatibility Test. This includes the system touchscreens, which do not need to be removed or covered during cleaning procedures, resulting in reduced downtime for regular cleaning.

Also on display will be our new GC Series conveyorized metal detection systems. The GC Series is designed to inspect a wide range of packaged and unpackaged food and non-food products for metallic foreign bodies at critical control points (CCP) and scores with flexibility, modularity and future-proof compliance. The GC Series can be modified at any time, according to compliance and production requirements, and can therefore be easily adapted to changing needs in the future. These modifications can be done in-situ – no welding, drilling or cutting required. Visit the Virtual Trade Show to find out more.

We will also be featuring our powerful X34 X-ray inspection system during the virtual trade show. This solution enables food manufacturers and processors to detect very small foreign objects quickly and reliably thanks to higher detection sensitivity. The X34 is designed for single-lane operation and is suitable for reliable foreign body detection in food products with small and medium-sized packaging. The X34 system detects metal, glass, high-density plastics, mineral stones as well as calciferous bones and bone fragments in a variety of packaged foods. With its powerful software, the X34 X-ray inspection system supports automated product setup, making it intuitive to use and at the same time minimizing the risk of operating errors and incorrect rejects.

To round out the product inspection range, we will also be launching our Product Data Check. This allows manufacturers to add a vision inspection component to their existing checkweigher or combination inspection system. The Product Data Check verifies content of product labeling as well as the print quality of the label, helping to prevent mislabeling errors occurring during product changeovers. “Recalls and rework due to mislabeled products is an easily-prevented issue.” says Jürgen Kress, Head of Checkweighing and Vision Inspection for Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection. “That’s why we wanted to give manufacturers an easy way to add product data verification to their existing Mettler-Toledo equipment to provide extra quality control with a minimal use of production space.”
