New, versatile Laser Sub-System for Converting and Packaging applications

The new Coherent PowerLine C is a CO₂ laser-based sub-system that offers an unmatched combination of convenience, versatility and economy for packaging and converting applications like easy-opening, modified-atmosphere packaging or kiss-cutting. Coherent sub-systems comprise a laser source, beam delivery opto-mechanics, and all related control electronics and software, in a package ready for integration into production machinery.

The PowerLine C mates a high reliability, long lifetime, sealed CO₂ laser (available output powers of 180 W, 250 W and 450 W), together with a choice of scanning and beam delivery optics, all in a compact, modular package.  The combination of a fast scanner head, high laser power and excellent beam quality and powerful, process enabling control software enables high processing speeds.  Even complex, on-the-fly applications are supported with exceptional precision and quality.

The precision opto-mechanics of the PowerLine C are complemented by the Coherent StarFlex software, which enables ease-of-operation while also providing sophisticated process options. For example, a user-friendly graphical interface enables straightforward layout of cutting or marking paths, assignment of laser parameters, laser triggering (including offsets), and display of workload or process time.

The PowerLine C has also been designed for ease of integration. It uses a standard interface for network connections under Windows 10, and communicates using standard CAN bus technology. It can be supplied in a standard 19” rack mount configuration, and now also in a compact cabinet in which all internal wiring is complete.
